You can receive immediate care for acute or chronic pain . You can become aware of postural habits, patterns of movement and compensation which may lead to injury or chronic pain. You can get help fine tuning your body for more ease of movement in your world.
Wellness/Relaxation massage is an excellent way to relieve sore muscles, reduce stress, compliment your self-care plan, improve circulation, increase range of motion, and experience nurturing touch. Thai massage is best known for its vast array of passive stretches. Some people call it "assisted yoga". I may use my hands, forearms, elbows, and feet to massage while assisting you in moving through a logical progression of asanas, or yoga stretching exercises. This interactive form of bodywork combines yoga therapy, assisted stretching, gentle rocking, acupressure, and compression massage. At all times the pace is smooth, harmonious and relaxing. Thai massage works to stimulate, open and balance the flow of energy to assist the body in its natural tendency toward self-healing. While I have adapted and integrated Thai yoga massage into my table work, I also practice traditional Thai massage is on a comfortable mat or futon on the floor instead of a table. In these sessions, no oil or lotion is used and my client wears loose, comfortable clothing such as a T-shirt and sweatpants to allow maximum comfort while stretching.
While each kind of massage session has distinctly different intentions, there always is a blending of styles . Sometimes appropriate clinical treatment includes relaxation massage and sometimes a wellness massage requires specific treatment techniques. I frequently weave aspects of Thai massage into work I do on a table. Whichever type you need, massage can be an effective way to relieve pain and stress, and is well worth the investment!
